Thanks again to Chris for taking notes and writing up the recap!
David and Tonya with NTMP shared several ideas with us of how we could manage traffic in the neighborhood. We rated and ranked those options based on how disruptive they’d be, how quickly they could be implemented, and how effective they’re anticipated to be.
In ranked order:
#1 Restrict southbound traffic on David Caldwell at Stratford (two potential ways)
#2 Mini Roundabout at Shady Lawn and David Caldwell
#3 Pavement Markings on David Caldwell
#4 Right In / Right Out only at Robin Hood & Holden (similar to how David Caldwell at Holden operates)
David and Tonya will be sharing these ranked options with the Emergency Response team to determine if any of them will have detrimental effects to response times. They will share the Emergency’s team’s information with us.
The pavement markings will also require a bit more research based on street width. We should hear back from NTMP with information here as well.
After those reviews, it sounds like it could be a pretty quick timeline to implementation (potentially this summer). Shortly after implementation, new traffic measurements will be taken to compare to the baseline measurements taken in the fall of 2024. The comparison between these two surveys will allow NTMP to understand if the changes are having the desired effects, and if they’re causing issues elsewhere in the neighborhood.
A few other items of note:
– Sidewalks are NOT part of the NTMP program, but we can petition for them in our neighborhood.

– Traffic enforcement is also NOT part of the NTMP program, but David encouraged us to use the 373-SLOW phone number to report issues, as well as our assigned Community Resource Officer R. Talbert
– A work order is in work to add a 25 MPH speed sign to Hill N Dale (since any street in Greensboro without a posted speed limit defaults to the 35 MPH expectation)
We expect to hear back from NTMP in the coming days / weeks, and will hopefully have a firmer timeline then. Stay tuned!
